Trail Closure

The trail System has been closed because of record rainfall.
Sections of trail are completely covered with water.
Some small bridges have been displaced.
Erosion is at an all time high, and debris is thick.
Sections have been unnecessarily widened by users trying to avoid the mud.
Trees are dormant and water is not being taken up by them, thus the ground has become saturated.
In order to preserve the high quality of trail that we strive to maintain, the trails will remain closed until damage will be minimized.
At this time it is not certain when that will happen.

Off Road Assault on Mt Mitchell was a blast!

Congratulations to:
Justin Fisher: he killed last years time by almost an hour coming in at 6:23:19 for 44th place! With a broken fork too!

Adam Dewitt: Top 10 finish in SingleSpeed class with a time of 6:59:45!! Incredible!

Andy Campbell: Shaved almost a full hour off of his last years effort! Ending time: 9:29:59

Joel Watson: Personal accomplishment of beating his last years time by 3.5 hours! Ending time of 7:49:33

Awesome results guys! Way to represent the LowCountry!

Cowbell Challenge 2009

A few Fat Tire Freaks went up to Davidson to race in the Cowbell Challenge Marathon 2009. Conditions were HOT. All riders did well…

Congratulations to Dave Hall on his third place finish in SingleSpeed! Yeah Dave!

Joel got 8th in singlespeed…
Justin Fisher 9th out of many many gearies….

Ashborough Trail

The Freaks met up at the Ashborough Trail in Summerville today for some fun twisty singletrack riding. The Ashborough Trail is an excellent trail with great armouring in all the right spots. Fast with twists in the trail which really make you work to keep your speed. A definite challenge to your bike handling skills…

Fat Tire Freaks go Skinny for a good cause!

The Fat Tire Freaks participated in the Tour de Cure fundraiser ride for Diabetes this weekend. Extreme temperatures and unexpected multiple hill climbs did not break their spirits. A great time was had by all. Waiting at the finish was a great lunch with lots of cold frosty refreshments!

Congrats to Luke Farrow for riding and completing his first metric century! Way to go Luke!
