‘Events’The Freaks helped support the Charleston Riverfront half-marathon this weekend and had a blast riding around the 1000s of runners challenging themselves….good fun times! The Fat Tire Freaks participated in the Tour de Cure fundraiser ride for Diabetes this weekend. Extreme temperatures and unexpected multiple hill climbs did not break their spirits. A great time was had by all. Waiting at the finish was a great lunch with lots of cold frosty refreshments! Congrats to Luke Farrow for riding and completing his first metric century! Way to go Luke! Riding up from Charleston to represent the Freaks were Brad Phillips and Joel Watson. Congratulations to Brad Phillips for a super-STRONG 2nd place finish with a tree bashing thrown in for an additional challenge. Here is a recap from my blog: Yet another Recap from Joe Pelton’s Blog: Here are updates on some of our locals participating in the many “XC racing” events happening out there… Harbison Race To The River Race#3 in the Southern Classic Series was held on Sunday, April 19, 2009 Brief details of the drag race were that it was fast, furious and fun…Great turnout, great food, prizes and atmosphere… Congratulations to Brad Phillips for his 2nd place finish in Cat 2 Men 30-39 Joel Watson also raced and barely managed to finish the race…looks like maybe his beer and Popeye’s Chicken training diet needs to be reconsidered… Here are MTB Frisbee event pictures from Ryan: Click here for a larger FULL-COLOR slideshow!
