‘News’

You are a security risk and security will not allow a gathering without first doing a background check on each and every one attending.
This is not a joke.
The event has been cancelled per the Commanding Officer.

01-25-10

The trail System has been closed because of record rainfall.
Sections of trail are completely covered with water.
Some small bridges have been displaced.
Erosion is at an all time high, and debris is thick.
Sections have been unnecessarily widened by users trying to avoid the mud.
Trees are dormant and water is not being taken up by them, thus the ground has become saturated.
In order to preserve the high quality of trail that we strive to maintain, the trails will remain closed until damage will be minimized.
At this time it is not certain when that will happen.

Here are updates on some of our locals participating in the many “XC racing” events happening out there…

Harbison Race To The River Race#3 in the Southern Classic Series was held on Sunday, April 19, 2009

Brief details of the drag race were that it was fast, furious and fun…Great turnout, great food, prizes and atmosphere…

Congratulations to Brad Phillips for his 2nd place finish in Cat 2 Men 30-39

Joel Watson also raced and barely managed to finish the race…looks like maybe his beer and Popeye’s Chicken training diet needs to be reconsidered…

LCFTF would like to give a big THANKS to the following for their monetary contributions:

These contributions really mean a lot to the work already in progress since it helps establish the newer sections quicker before Spring creeps in and attempts to reclaim them.

If I missed mentioning anyone, please email Joel on the Yahoo Groups mail loop…

Cheers!

Thanks to Marshall Walls of Easy Rider Bikes for some excellent service repairing and truing my wheel for me.  Sometimes, letting a professional have a look at a recurring problem can shed new light on what was wrong.  In this case, he opened my eyes to some spoke issues I kept repeatedly having.  Regardless, he changed the faulty issues, trued and double checked my wheel for a great price!  By the looks of his busy shop, I guess I am not the only one trusting my bike to a capable mechanic.  Hey, if you are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of a celebrity sneak in to check on some bike repairs.  I am not gonna say who, but I know I “ain’t fraid of no ghost”…

Thanks Marshall!
